Two weeks ago in Seattle, Amazon's VP of Selling Partner Experience said sellers "would never have to log into Seller Central. We would just bring it to them where they work."
Six days later in San Francisco, Amazon Ads rebuilt its whole ad platform around one conversational agent.
Two conferences with one message: Amazon doesn't want you operating your account anymore. It wants you supervising the AI that does.
Here's my problem with that. The AI doesn't work for you. It works for Amazon.
We were in the room at both events and there's too much to cram into one email. So we're unpacking it over three editions this week.
Let's start with the big picture.
At Accelerate, the seller conference, the headline was Seller Assistant. It used to answer questions. Now it does jobs. It has memory and runs always-on workflows you describe in plain English. You choose whether it recommends or acts. Amazon also shipped a Selling Partner plugin that connects your listings, inventory and sales data to Claude and Amazon Quick.
Amazon's proudest stat is that sellers accept Seller Assistant's recommendations more than 90% of the time. Sit with that. Amazon reads it as proof the AI is good. I read it as proof most sellers have already stopped checking.
At unBoxed, the advertiser conference, the Ads Console and the DSP merged into one product, the Amazon Ads Agent. With Full-Funnel Campaigns, you set one budget and Amazon's AI picks the channels, audiences and pacing. You approve the creative. That's about it. Amazon owns the inventory, runs the auction, operates the agent spending your budget, and grades the results with its own metrics. All of this a month after the FTC and 22 states sued Amazon for quietly inflating auction prices.
Every announcement takes something you did by hand and makes it Amazon's job. What Amazon can't take is what goes in and what you decide. Your product data, your margins, your creative and the guardrails on what an agent may do without asking. Two brands with the same Ads Agent and the same budget will now get very different results. Because one feeds the machine better and actually checks its work.
Supervising has always been the job. Now it's the only one left and Amazon would be thrilled if you skipped it.
Lumian Agents gives you AI that checks its work and answers only to you. Free to start.

What happened:
In seven days Amazon shipped more than 20 seller and advertiser features. Here's the short list with our verdict.

Selling Partner plugin (Claude / Quick) | Lets an outside AI read your listings, inventory and sales | Beta, waitlist | Act now. Join the waitlist. |
Multichannel in Seller Central | Manage eBay, Shopify, TikTok Shop and Walmart orders inside Seller Central | Rolling out, free, US | Watch. Friday's edition. |
Prime on your own site + MCF 15–25% off | Show the Prime badge on your DTC site; Amazon ships it | Live (US) | Act now if you sell DTC. |
Profit Analytics + Scenario Modeling | A free per-SKU profit and loss, plus "what if" pricing | Rolling out | Act now. |
Amazon Ads Agent | One home for all Amazon ad buying (Ads Console + DSP merged) | Expanded beta | Watch. |
Full-Funnel Campaigns | One budget; Amazon picks channels and audiences | Live, US | Test with a holdout. Wednesday. |
DVA+ | Display, video and audio ads sold as one buy | Late Oct → year end | Watch. |
Review Requests | An ad that asks real buyers for a one-tap rating | Open beta late Oct (US) | Act now. Wednesday. |
Branded Conversations | Your sponsored ad in Alexa for Shopping becomes a chat | Jan 2027 (US) | Prep your brief. Wednesday. |
Sponsored Services | Ads for service providers, starting with home and auto | Live | Ignore unless you sell installables. |
Marketing Stream v2 | Ad data every 15 minutes instead of hourly | Global | Watch. Matters for agencies and tools. |
Why it matters:
Only about half of these are something you can switch on today. Spend October on the "Act now" rows and put the rest in your calendar.
What happened:
The event runs Oct 6–7, for 48 hours across 22 countries. "Today's Big Deals" drops three times a day (12am, 8am and 1pm PT). Alexa for Shopping now shows shoppers 365-day price history and deal alerts. Adobe expects about $9.9B in US online spend across the two days.
Why it matters:
Shoppers can now see a full year of your prices. A deal off a price you raised last month won't look like a deal. Tonight, check the 365-day pricing on your top five deal ASINs and drop any deal that won't look real on a chart.
What happened:
Around Sept 21, Amazon started blocking Muse, Meta's new AI shopping agent. Amazon says Muse didn't identify itself as automated and captured shopper logins. Shoppers saw a pop-up: "Continued access by an unauthorized AI agent violates Amazon's Conditions of Use." Separately, the Ninth Circuit lifted the injunction against Perplexity's Comet agent, ruling that the user, not the AI, is the one accessing Amazon. That case is back in district court.
Why it matters:
Whether outside AI agents can shop on Amazon is still unsettled and Amazon writes the terms of service. Plan for Alexa for Shopping being the only AI shopper on Amazon through 2027.
Seller Central Update of the Week
The Selling Partner plugin for AI agents. Amazon now has an official connector that gives Claude (and Amazon Quick) read access to your listings, inventory, sales and performance data. Setup takes about 60 seconds, with no code.
Beta for US sellers. Claude access is through a waitlist.
Ads data isn't included yet. That goes through the separate Amazon Ads MCP server (a connector built for AI tools).
Do this today: Join the waitlist. When you're in, ask it one question you currently answer with a spreadsheet and see how close it gets. Or just try Lumian Agents today!
